Biography
Wixted home
previous page next page

Kevin Wixted's works are windows into different realms of perception; they evoke a sense of balance--yet, on closer examination--the architectural elements are incongruous. He incorporates inside and outside, but his blending of reality and illusion leaves one baffled to separate the two. Wixted uses oil, wax, and enamel to create brilliant colors suggestive of early Italian Renaissance works.

Wixted's work has recently appeared in New American Paintings, a juried exhibition in print. He has exhibited in numerous one-person shows and group exhibitions; his work is featured in many public and private collections. Wixted is currently an Assistant Professor of Painting at New York's Alfred University.
